November 6 - Drove 442 miles today - 37.8mpg
Left the hotel at 10am after sleeping an extra hour due to daylight savings time change last night. Breakfast of rib-sticking, slurp-worthy waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit.... along with catching up with political pundits on TV.
Driving out of town we notice the large array of billboards lining the freeway. They are all different law firms offering relief from car wrecks, big-rig wrecks, work place injuries, bankruptcy, gambling issues, and also offer quick loans. This area must really be ripe for litigious claims with hopes of big payoffs. We can't drive fast enough to get to the border.
We crossed the border into Texas and stopped at the visitor center. It's 81 degrees and really muggy warm.
This place seemed to have every tourist map, pamphlet and brochure published in the state.

Here we are in the artsy metal cutout of Texas.
A Texas star as big as the state. Time to get back in the air-conditioned car.
Cricket says a little more scratches on the left and peel me some treats please.
Looks like the skies are dark over Houston. Is that the sun ☀️peeking through? Not for long
Rain 💦 started about 3:30 while we were driving through Houston and by 5pm it was coming down in heavy sheets. We were out of Houston, about 120 miles from San Antonio and we were in it the way.
