The Traveling 3some - Day 4 - From Hot Sulpher Springs to Estes Park to Denver, Colorado

October 10 - 353 miles - 35.9mpg

It was a brisk 35 degrees as we loaded the car and headed for Estes Park nestled in the Rocky Mountain National Park along a super scenic 2-lane road.

We hate using the overworked word "spectacular " but this drive was spectacular.

A bit chilly at the top!

At this stop the cold wind almost blew us over.

There were no barriers between us and the ravine miles below. In many cases, like the Pacific Coast Highway, stretches of the side dropped right off...only a vertical drop measured in miles not feet.

We visited the University of Wyoming Art Museum in Laramie to see the award winning design by internationally acclaimed architect Antoine Predock. The 5-story copper cone is reminiscent of a mountain peak. In fact, the building is axially linked to the two highest peaks in Laramie's surrounding mountain ranges.

From Laramie, we drove east to Cheyenne, the Wyoming state capitol.

After that, on to Denver.

We spent the evening with Inge, Norm's sister and her managerie of rescue pups - large and small who joined her own pups Moxie and Harper..
