2015 Southwest Trip - Day 2 - on the road to Wells, NV

View from our "Atlantis" room. Woke up to blue skies and 70 degrees:

Enjoyed breakfast with Pam's Mom. packed up - back on the road about 11:25am.  Starting mileage at 137 heading to Wells Nevada.  Seems to it's like we're driving on the desolate set of "The Martian" as we drive across upper Nevada. Traffic all the way between Reno and Wells was lighter than light. If we'd been riding our Harleys we would have been rare birds indeed - we saw a total of two motorcycles on I-80 and they were coming toward us. When the ride season ends it really ends.

A beacon along the freeway as we pull off at beautiful downtown Winemucca many miles into the day's route.

Three photos of the real Nevada, not the ersatz casino and Mustang Ranch Nevada. Beautiful.

Arrived at Rest Inn Suites Motel in Wells, NV at 4:45pm - drove 332 miles today. This establishment is one of Wells' finest and is actually quite nice inside - great bed. Hotels.com guest reviews rate it higher than the Motel 6 next door. Very near past where we are is once again nothing but open range. Soon to come, actual photos of The Traveling Twosome in some weird pose or location, to be determined.

Got 36.4 mpg today!
