Saturday - February 15

Saturday - Feb 15

We went to McDonald's today for breakfast then headed to the Sugar Mill.

We saw a large oven in the yard and it reminded us of Hansel and Gretel.  Jokingly trying to push Linda into the oven....she got back at me!

This is an organic sugar cane field:

Next we went to Ocean Vodka farm and distillery:

They had a real nice grassy picnic area with a view of the valley:

Norm thinks he's hiding but we found him.....

Next we headed to the Surfing Goat Dairy:

Such sweet little goats:

We saw quite a few fun signs posted around the area:

Cheese, Cheese...and more cheese (Linda bought some):

And....chocolates (Pam bought some):

Next....we drove up to the Haleakala National Park - to the very top (while passing bicyclists up and down the mountain)::

Linda took a panoramic photo of the crater:

When we got back to town, we passed near the airport where we first saw the Wecome to Maui sign.

Next, we visited the Mele Ukulele shop where Linda bought her nice koa wood uke awhile back.   Pam tried a few concert size models and.....Norm bought one for Pam to be her "travel uke".  Its beautiful with koa curly wood on the top and mahogany on the sizes.  It has a real bright sound. It was handmade by master luthier Michael Rock.

Cheryl Rock showed us a few choices:

This is the one that Norm bought for Pam:

Kisses to Norm:

Next we went to the Queen Kaahumanu Mall.  The large, open air mall was really pretty and had all the usual shops but there is a stage in the middle where Linda said they hold lots of concerts and hula shows.  We're sitting in front of the Queen's statue.

We ended the day at Starbucks....
