Saturday - February 8

Saturday - Feb 8:

Left Punalu'u at 9:30am in drizzly weather and headed to return the car rental and board our flight to Maui.

Almost to Maui - would have been a short, relaxing flight had it not been for a 2 yr old in front of us shreaking most of the way.  He had his Mother's number...every time he shreaked, he received a toy or a treat.

We picked up our rental car, Nissan Sentra from Budget Rental.

Then headed to Costco and KMart for groceries and a hot dog for lunch.

Norm and Robert stayed at the condo that evening and Linda and Pam went to a concert at the Maui Arts Complex - JAKE SHIMABUKURO....

Before the show, there were hula dancers and quite a few artisan booths set up - plus a long line of people waiting to enter the buffet for dinner.  Luckily, we had eaten dinner at McDonalds.

The EVENT of the night - Linda got us some great seats at the railing.  We weren't supposed to take photos but we "somehow" snuck a couple of them....

This was at the end of the concert when he was given a lei...

He played one last song and thanked everyone involved with the Arts Complex and the sold out crowd for attending.  Came across as such a nice guy.  He taked a bit about his wife and 1.5 yr old son living in Honolulu.  His Mother taught him to play the uke at age 4.

After the concert, he met with everyone for autographs (should have brought my uke with me)  and photos.  We felt like teenagers again!
